TSL Installation – A Landmark Achievement in Curved Façades & Cross-Border Delivery
This luxury apartment project in Kew, Melbourne stands as one of TSL Installation’s signature achievements, delivered under extraordinary façade complexity and an international supply-chain model. Despite challenging site conditions and the absence of technical drawings, our team delivered a high-precision, high-quality result through expert engineering, detailed measurement, and seamless global coordination.
Key Challenges
Extensive curved floor-to-ceiling windows and oversized glass panels requiring exceptional installation accuracy
Tight metropolitan site with limited access for transport, lifting and manoeuvring
An abandoned project with no available construction drawings or technical documents
Only the concrete structure remained — with no datum lines, reference points or guides
Cross-Border Delivery: China-Made Unitised Panels + On-Site Precision Installation
The project adopted a hybrid delivery model:unitised window systems were precision-manufactured in China, shipped to Melbourne, and then installed, aligned, waterproofed and sealed by TSL’s specialist team on site.
Redoing the Work for Perfection
Before our involvement, four different installation teams had attempted the project without success.Around 40% of the glass units had already been installed when TSL took over.
To guarantee the highest standard of waterproofing and alignment, we made a decisive choice:all previously installed units were removed, sub-frames were re-aligned, and the entire waterproofing system was rebuilt from scratch.
Building Without Drawings: Experience + Engineering + Precision Control
With no drawings to rely on, TSL used rendered elevations, structural clues, and professional experience to determine exact measurements and structural relationships. Our team delivered the full workflow—measurement, offshore fabrication, on-site assembly, sealing and waterproofing.
Final Outcome
Total of 2,500 labour hours
Completed 1,850 sqm of curved and oversized façade systems
Delivered within AUD 150,000
Achieved top-tier alignment accuracy and long-term waterproof performance
The building now stands as a new architectural landmark in Melbourne
Through this hybrid model of precision offshore manufacturing paired with expert Australian installation, TSL has demonstrated strong capability in complex façade delivery, global supply-chain coordination, and high-precision on-site execution.
